Do it yourself is the phrase everyone knows and loves. And why wouldn't it be? Of course we can push up our sleeves and do it ourselves! Creating, repairing, customizing or giving garments and accessories a face lift: it's not just our wallets that say thank you, the environment appreciates the effort too. And that's why it's our pleasure to share just a little more inspiration with you.

DIY: Pimp your jean jacket

Jean jackets are currently back in style, and just to repeat what we said in our previous blog post: please give it to us oversized! Have you got an “oldy” hanging in the closet somewhere? It's time to do something with it and give it a new look.

Try something similar to the example above and attach some extra patchwork based on Aztec, Peruvian, Mexican patterns, etc. to the back or sleeves of your jacket. This instantly gives your jean jacket an ethnic look.

By using iron on patches you can give it a playful effect in just a snap. On top of that, they're good for concealing holes and stains. Kids have a great time doing it too, although it goes without saying that you'll need to lend a hand with the ironing.

Another option is to get out the bead basket and put your imagination to work with beads and studs. Decorate the shoulders or glue/sew them on top of a breast pocket.

You can also do gorgeous things with different fabric patches, for instance using denim, floral prints, feathers, coins/medallions, etc. On Pinterest you can actually find loads of great examples too.
