Which Fibre Mood pattern is your all-time favourite?
Off the top of my head, Kenza and Naima come to mind. Two pant patterns that I really like. But there are also lots of other patterns that I think are really great.
What do you like about it?
Both have a good mix of classic elements, simplicity, and a casual vibe. I think it’s especially important to use the right fabric for pants with pleats. It needs to be flowing, yet still have a certain weight to it so the pleats drape nicely. I almost exclusively sew with wool fabrics now because they don’t wrinkle and are just so comfortable to wear.
Do you have a tip for your fellow sewistas?
This isn’t a typical tip, but rather my personal formula for avoiding sewing mishaps:
I’ve taken the time to figure out what kind of clothing feels true to who I am as a person and what makes me feel comfortable. Since then, I’ve been choosing my sewing projects much more thoughtfully and taking the time to select the right fabric. I’d rather invest in quality, because my sewing time is precious. And here’s something else that’s really important: I measure the pattern pieces after cutting them out and make initial adjustments to fit my body measurements before I cut the fabric.
When cutting the fabric, I often add an extra centimeter to the seam allowance to give myself a little more wiggle room for adjustments.

Pattern in the spotlight
Kenza Trousers
Kenza looks wonderfully casual thanks to its wide legs with double pleats. These trousers have a facing instead of a waistband for a different effect. Furthermore, Kenza has a zipped fly fastening, a darted back, and faux welt pockets. The cuffed hems is a design detail we love, but these are obviously not a must.
