Behind the scenes at Fibre Mood the work never stops. Thankfully we can count on outside help, for example, from the orthopedic center, De Beweging in Gijzenzele. OC De Beweging is a care center for people with neuromotor disabilities, non-congenital brain injuries or an autism spectrum disorder. Their patients take pride in and are enthusiastic about lending a hand with tying up all the loose ends.

Making sample cards, adding stamps, packaging, administrative tasks … these are only a few of the things they do at OC De Beweging. It's therefore the perfect opportunity to partner on all kinds of exciting projects for real customers. “The work we do here together with our clients and volunteers gives everyone a great feeling of satisfaction”, says Nancy Neys, supervisor at Het Atelier.

“In Het Atelier we carry out semi-industrial work such as cutting out labels for Fibre Mood, filling promotional bags and packaging Fibre Mood patterns. We also have a creative studio where we make things for our own shop (with a coffee bar, by the way!) in the day centre in Botelare.” To do the whole project Nancy and Else, her partner in crime, count on the support of enthusiastic colleagues  and the volunteers who come along during the day to care for the clients. “We work with a group of 8 to 10 people. We work out the planning and divide the tasks over the number of days and hours someone works. That could be only half a day a week, or for others three days. Anyone wanting to take part in Het Atelier has an intake interview and then we look at what they can and want to do. However, this is on the condition that they are able to acquire a government grant for care and support for persons with a disability, where the government funds the budget required for this. “When they see their product in the shop or can admire the results of their work, they are extremely proud. The feeling that they are doing a useful task is everything to them. Both we and our partners find this fantastic.”

And what about Fibre Mood? “We are now going a step further than than merely carrying out semi-industrial work for Fibre Mood. We are going to manage the webshop from our day centre. We will be processing all orders and deliveries. That is new for us and so rather exciting!”
